GRAFTON POLICE DETAIL POLICY


Detail Rates Effective October 16, 2024
Effective October 16, 2024, all detail work will be charged the following hourly rates per the police union contract.
– Private Detail Rate: $65.00
– Private Detail Rate 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Monday-Friday: $97.50
– Private Detail Rate Saturday and Sunday: $97.50
– Private Detail Rate Holidays: $97.50
– Private Detail Rate after eight (8) hours $146.25
A 10 % Administration fee with a guarantee of a minimum of four (4) hours charged for each detail. Town of Grafton, Grafton School Department and Charitable Organizations are exempt from the administrative fee.

No Private detail or assignment shall be made until the person, firm, corporation or entity requesting or required to have such detail has agreed to pay each employee performing the detail the applicable rate. There is a guaranteed minimum of 4 hours per detail per employee. If the detail is more than 4 hours, each employee will be paid 8 hours minimum.

Additionally, any person, firm or organization scheduling a detail shall agree to pay the hours originally requested or hours worked, whichever is greater. All hours shall be rounded up to the next full hour.

Charitable organizations, Town of Grafton and or Grafton School Department details shall be billed hourly after 4 hours. Each employee working Town, School or Charitable organization details shall be paid only for actual hours worked after 4 hours. Charitable Organizations shall be defined as any organization with a 501(c)(3) designation with the IRS.

Detail hours more than 8 hours on all details shall be paid at the time and one-half the applicable detail rate.

*Emergency Detail-Any detail other than Town of Grafton, Grafton School and Charitable organization details that are called in 8 hours or less from the start time of the requested details shall be paid at the Night/Holiday rate.

Cancellation: A 4-hour cancellation notice is required for private details. Failure to notify of the detail cancellation within this time frame will result in 4 hours of detail pay to the officer assigned to the detail.

Cancellation: One (1) hour cancellation notice required for Town and School Details. Failure to notify within this timeframe will result in payment of four (4) hours of detail pay to the officer assigned to the detail.
